What We're Consuming in Venture:
Celebrating International Women’s Day this Past Tuesday 🔥
If you haven’t read our last blog post, Paving Ways for Women in VC, check it out!
But, anyways, the percentages of women in VC isn’t looking so hot...
Women compose only 4.9% of VC partners in the U.S. as of 2020.
Only 2.3% of venture capital go to women and only 2% of women-owned start-ups generate $1 million, while men are 3.5x more likely to achieve this number.
Yikes.
Also note that this graph is extremely zoomed in so picture how these lines would look if the y-axis was scaled to 100%. The female-only line wouldn’t even be visible!
📚 Articles/Books we've enjoyed
Check out this slightly longer blog but a great deep dive into Flow, a blockchain created by Dapper Labs (also the creator of NBA Top Shot), and how the crypto world initially rejected it for being too centralized.
However! There’s much more complexity beneath the surface, with a “maximally decentralized platform to support a billion user building complex worlds on-chain.”
